There seems to be a bit of confusion over its and it's.
Simple - if it's a contraction of it is and it is then it's it's!

If it denotes posession as in:

At university it's important to submit each assignment by its due date

it's because its is a possessive pronoun indicating possession in the same way as:

my: belonging to me
your: belonging to you
his: belonging to him
her: belonging to her
our: belonging to us
their: belonging to them
its: belonging to it

I thought this book would be my favorite, probably forever. I liked the story. I liked Death's narration, because it was so vivid. And I ESPECIALLY liked the characters, like Hans Hubermann and Max Vangenburg. The book was so long, it seemed to have plot after plot inside it- as I was nearing the end, I honestly dreaded what would come next, because I knew nearly everyone was going to end up dead. At first, I did not especially like seeing Liesel growing old and dying, because when you read a book, you want the characters to be immortally young forever, but Death is factual like that and it just makes the story more real. I was very upset about finding out it would turn into a movie, because movie's always butcher the facts and get actors who are different from how you imagine them and they ruin and limit your imagination and I'm not planning on watching it. They can capture some of the things in a movie that they capture in a book. Amazing story, though, either way.

I was teaching college, stuff such as neuropathology and the evolution of the brain. I filled out a form and said I had gotten all As in all my science courses, but Bs is some English courses, ones not related to report writing. The head of the English department came to my office to laugh his head off at me. He said, "No wonder I got lower grades in English." He showed me how to write A's and B's. I have looked this up in every grammar book I have picked up since (not all that many). The vote was half-and-half, about the same as the fight over the comma before the last in a list before the "and." How am I supposed to know what is correct? Why do you involve the rest of us in your battles. Fight it out and then let us know.

So I was hoping! Yet (the very lost?) Jeno Reno made sure all were aware he'd designed said retreat specifically for them - spirit animals and all.

As I said - research project. Bleh!

Yeah, but couldn't it be read as "A retreat where there are couples" -- making the apostrophe unnecessary -- rather than "A retreat of couples," which would require the apostrophe?
